Navara kizhi means “a poultice of rice.” Rice is boiled with milk to create a fragrant and nourishing decoction. The cooked rice is then gathered into balls and tied up in linen bags. The warm poultices are then dipped in milk and applied all over the body.”


The Session

  • In this process, the rice variety “Navara” which has great nutritional value, is cooked with milk and a herbal decoction.
  • The mixture so produced is put in puffy muslin bags
  • The muslin bags are then dipped in milk and applied onto the body.
